York student Jordan Hanley was an avid hockey player

Jordan HanleyJordan Hanley, a fourth-year student in York’s Faculty of Health, died on Monday, Oct. 11 from injuries sustained in an accident. He was 23.

Mr. Hanley was enrolled in the Kinesiology Program at York. An avid hockey player, Mr. Hanley played for the Georgina Ice hockey team. The York flag will fly at half-mast from sunrise today until 1pm Friday in memory of Mr. Hanley.

Mr. Hanley was the son of Rosanne and Robert Hanley of Keswick, Ont., and the loving brother of Joel Hanley. He leaves his grandparents Allen and Marie Hanley of Elmira. He will be remembered by his family, his friends, classmates at York University and by the team members of the Georgina Ice. 

A private funeral for Mr. Hanley has taken place. The family requests that donations in his memory be made to the Maple Hill Baptist Church, 215 Glenwoods Avenue in Keswick. Online condolences can be left for the family on the M. W. Becker Funeral Home website.
