The Academic Policy, Planning & Research Committee of Senate has issued a document – the University Academic Plan 2010-2015: A Commitment to Quality, Innovation & Engagement – in advance of consultations leading to the approval of a new University Academic Plan (UAP).
Members of the York community will be invited to participate in an e-survey, which the Academic Policy, Planning & Research Committee of Senate will conduct this week. The survey is designed to gather views from faculty, students, alumni, staff and organizations on how objectives should be prioritized and other aspects of the UAP.
A special e-mail address has been created for the consultation phase. Comments, questions or suggestions can be sent to uap@yorku.ca. Communications may also be sent to the committee’s secretary Robert Everett at beverett@yorku.ca.
A discussion of the University Academic Plan 2010-2015: A Commitment to Quality, Innovation & Engagement is scheduled for the Senate meeting of Oct. 28. It is hoped that Senate committees, Faculty councils and/or council planning will also provide their feedback in the weeks ahead. Members of the committee are available to facilitate discussions, if desired, in these settings.
The committee is moving toward the presentation of a recommendation to Senate this fall, and encourages responses by mid-November.
The UAP identifies strategic planning goals for a five-year period, serves as a guide for planners during that span and provides important context for interactive planning.
