Flag lowered today for staffer Suzanne Cameron

Suzanne Cameron, a long-serving employee in the Department of Human Resources at York University, died on Sunday, Oct. 24 at Brampton Civic Hospital following a brief illness. She was 43.

The flag will be lowered to half-mast tomorrow in honour of Mrs. Cameron, who provided 23 years of service to the University. It will remain there until 1pm on Saturday.

Mrs. Cameron began her career at York 23 years ago as a payroll clerk. Eight years ago, she became a reporting analyst in the Payroll & Human Resource Information Management Unit.

Mrs. Cameron's bright personality and warmth will be greatly missed by all of her colleagues at York. She is survived by her husband Rod and son Evan and by her mother Ellen Bowie, a retired York University employee. 

Visitation will be held today, from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 9pm, at the Ward Funeral home "Brampton Chapel", 52 Main Street South (Hwy 10), in Brampton. A funeral service for Mrs. Cameron will take place on Friday, Oct. 29 in the chapel at 11am. Friends and colleagues are invited to share their memories of Suzanne Cameron through the Ward Funeral Home website. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Lighthouse Program for Grieving Children would be appreciated.
