Osgoode grads shine as Lexpert Rising Stars

Eleven of the 47 winners of this year’s Lexpert Rising Stars awards, honouring leading Canadian lawyers and corporate counsel under 40, were graduates of York’s Osgoode Hall Law School.

Hosted by Lexpert, the business magazine for lawyers, the awards are a way of paying tribute to the rising stars of the legal community of which close to one quarter this year are York alumni. These are lawyers who are considered to have already made a significant impact on the legal profession through their impressive skills and accomplishments.

Their achievements include a broad array of deals, cases and/or files; community or professional involvement or pro bono work; contribution to the firm’s profitability; ability to adapt to change; education, awards and affiliations; and qualities identifying a nominee as a team player.

The winners were chosen by the Lexpert advisory board and presented at a gala dinner and ceremony in November, with keynote speaker astronaut and aquanaut Dave Williams and emcee Heather Hiscox, host of “CBC News Now”.
