Fitness comes to you. The Fit 4 Life Employee Program, in addition to being offered at the Tait McKenzie Centre, will now also be available as part of in-house fitness classes at the Student Centre this winter.
The program offers classes in circuit, yoga and boot camp with a flexible drop-in schedule and personalized instruction. All sessions will be run by qualified instructors from York University’s School of Kinesiology & Health Science.
Circuit – Mondays and Wednesdays – This fun and efficient full-body workout gets your body moving, heart pumping and muscles firing by combining cardiovascular conditioning with weight training intervals. All levels are accommodated.
Yoga – Thursdays – An energizing class with poses that encourage alignment, flexibility, balance, strength, cardiovascular endurance and overall movement performance.
Boot Camp – Tuesdays and Fridays – Boot camp is a challenging, action-packed group fitness workout that makes use of everyday three-dimensional functional movements. This fun and high-energy session will give you an incredible cardiovascular workout while overloading all the muscles and nerves of the body through various training methods including strength and power exercises, interval training, agility drills and movements that challenge your balance and coordination.
All Fit 4 Life classes will be offered at 321 The Student Centre from 12:10 to 1pm. The program will run from Jan. 10 to April 21, but will be closed on Feb. 21.
Participants can register and pay on site at the first class by cash only. The program is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. All participants must sign a medical release form (PAR-Q). The cost of the program is $130 for circuit and boot camp classes, $155 for yoga classes or $205 for all classes.
