Spanning the turn of the 20th century to the 1980s, these images from the archives’ collection represent a diverse range of photographic styles. They cover many subjects and themes, including transportation, tourism and recreation, and they demonstrate the skill, vision and artistry the photographers brought to their work.
Visit the Archives of Ontario gallery to see this unique and eclectic collection of images, from the majestic to the whimsical ranging from 1920s beach bathing beauties to the CNE of yesteryear to the post-war immigrant experience.
The Archives of Ontario is open to the public from Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm; Tuesday and Thursdays, the archives are open until 8pm. Saturday hours are 10am to 4pm. The Assignment to Archives exhibit is located in the Helen McLung Exhibit Area in the Archives of Ontario Building, 134 Ian Macdonald Blvd. on York’s Keele campus.
