Starting today a portion of Four Winds Drive will be closed from Columbia Gate to Keele Street for about three weeks to facilitate water main work. Four Winds Drive will remain open between Columbia Gate and Sentinel Road, and access to Keele Street from Murray Ross Parkway will remain open. Local access to Four Winds Drive will be maintained.
In addition, motorists may face temporary to significant traffic delays due to varying lane restrictions on the following streets:
- Southbound on Keele Street from 200 metres north of Murray Ross Parkway to Finch Avenue West for water main and utilities work.
- Murray Ross Parkway continues to be restricted to a single lane in either direction from Keele Street to Jack Evelyn Wiggins Drive. There are no lane restrictions east of Keele Street that will impact access to or from the Shell property.
- Westbound Finch Avenue West approaching Keele Street. Only one westbound lane will be closed at a time.
Paid duty officers will be on site to ensure safe traffic flow.
Water main, utility and road works for Finch West subway station
Work is progressing on an extension of Tangiers Road and Murray Ross Parkway in preparation for the Finch West Subway Station construction. Once complete, the extension will provide a detour route around the intersection of Keele Street and Finch Avenue West to help ease traffic congestion during station construction.
This advance work also includes the relocation of the water mains and utilities on Keele Street, from Finch Avenue West to north of Murray Ross Parkway. This work is expected to be complete April 2011. (Expected completion date is subject to change due to weather and/or unforeseen events.)
Work hours
Work will normally run between 7am to 7pm, Monday to Friday, during which there may be construction-related noise.
