Why care less about the disabled fetus?

In an opinion piece in The Globe and Mail Jan. 19, Roxanne MyKitiuk, a professor in York’s Osgoode Hall Law School, made a case to extend the argument against female feticide to the unborn with ulta-sound detectable anomalies. “For those of us living with, or living with someone with, Down syndrome, a cleft lip or a missing limb, the selection against fetuses with these characteristics is as troubling as the selection against female fetuses,” she wrote. Hants County native wins NDP nomination
The Hants Journal in Nova Scotia interviewed the mother of Craig Scott, professor of international law at York’s Osgoode Law School, who won the contest for the NDP nomination in the byelection for the late Jack Layton’s Toronto seat. “I’m a proud mother and I can only wish him good luck, good fortune and all the best for whatever the future may hold,” said Barb Scott.
