A commercial’s quirky reference to Canada has spawned a viral hit in Brazil, wrote the Toronto Star Jan. 25. It’s the kind of advertising that stands out from the competition, said Alan Middleton, a marketing professor at York University’s Schulich School of Business. “There’s a catchy line in based on a little point of interest that was different from run of the mill,” he said. CEO change doesn’t point to new direction for RIM, says York prof
The market fallout continues for Research in Motion shares in the wake of the company’s executive shake up on Sunday night, wrote Kitchener’s 570 News radio Jan. 24. The stock closed down about three per cent on the TSX, adding to yesterday’s loss of more than nine per cent. Professor of Marketing at York University, Alan Middleton, told 570’s “Gary Doyle Show” on Tuesday, he thinks markets are reacting negatively to the appointment of Thorsten Heins as the new CEO of the company.
