Single-lane restrictions begin on Steeles Avenue West and York Boulevard

Starting the week of Monday March 5, there will be single-lane restrictions eastbound on Steeles Avenue West at Northwest Gate for utility relocation work. These lane restrictions are expected to last for approximately two weeks.

While moving through this construction zone, drivers should use extra care and reduce speed. Traffic movements will be reduced to ensure public safety and to allow for construction vehicles to access both the north and south construction entrances of the Steeles West subway station. Also starting the week of March 5 , there will be a single-lane restriction eastbound on York Boulevard at the intersection of James Gillies for traffic light modification and minor roadwork. This lane restriction is expected to last for approximately two days.

Due to the nature and location of the work, transit riders and motorists may face traffic delays. Traffic flag personnel will be stationed near the work zone to ensure safe traffic flow.
