Flag raising for Pride Tuesday at both campuses

pride flagCome help York show its Pride. The Pride flags will be raised at York’s Keele and Glendon campuses on Tuesday, June 26 to celebrate Pride 2012 across the University.

The Keele campus ceremony will take place at 11am in Vari Hall Rotunda with speeches, cake and refreshments, while the Glendon campus celebration will start at 3:30pm at the main flag pole by York Hall.

In addition, there will be a York University table at the Pride festivities in downtown Toronto Saturday, June 30 and Sunday, July 1 – booths B29 and B30 – on Church St. north of Gloucester. Volunteers are welcome and should e-mail aweigt-bienzle@glendon.yorku.ca for more information.

March in the Pride Parade with Trans, Bisexual, Lesbian, Gay Allies at York (TBLGAY) and the York Federation of Students (YFS) float, a collaboration with the Art Gallery of York University. Meet between 10am and 11am at the corner of Bloor and Church streets (look for the TBLGAY banner or YFS flag). After 11am walk down Rosedale Valley Road until you find the float. The March begins at 1pm.

All York students, faculty, staff and their friends are welcome. The march goes ahead rain or shine.

The YFS will provide coolers of water, so bring a reusable water bottle.
