Bernard Wolf, a professor of economics and international business at the Schulich School of Business, was quoted in the Toronto Star Aug. 22 in a story about the conviction of a dozen people of corruption in the nickel industry by a Cuban court. Two employees of a Cuban-Canadian joint concern were among those convicted. Read full story.
Scoring out, fun in for Driftwood campers in Kine Kids program
Kine Kids, a program created by Angelo Belcastro, chair of the School of Kinesiology & Health Science in the FacuIty of Health was profiled in The North York Mirror Aug. 20. The program brings some 70 children between seven and 12 years of age, who are not physically active, into a day camp setting to encourage healthy physical activity and regular exercise. New theatre company puts on shows in Streetsville
The Little Black Afro Productions theatre company, founded by second-year theatre studies student Luke Reece, presents its first production at the Masonic Lodge in Streetsville this Friday. Reece formed the troupe about three months ago. The troupe will be staging a pair of 30-minute plays, the comedy, Sacks Don't Grunt, and the drama, Anniversary, reported the Mississauga News Aug. 21.
