Starting this afternoon, an entire section of Steeles Avenue West will be diverted north, west of Keele Street for subway construction, however, two lanes will remain open in both directions during this work.
The south sidewalk on Steeles Avenue West will remain open west of Founders Road until the new sidewalk on the north side is completed later this week.
Traffic restrictions on Steeles Avenue West will continue and be modified to suit subway construction activities over the next three years. While driving through this construction zone, motorists are asked to use extra care and reduce speeds. Expect delays as traffic movement will be reduced to ensure public safety and to allow for construction vehicles to access the site on both north and south sides of Steeles Avenue West.
Paid duty officers will be on Steeles Avenue West directing traffic during the lane restrictions.
