Bryden Awards ceremony pays tribute to worthy grads

York University recognized the achievements of five illustrious alumni at the 2012 Bryden Awards gala on Thursday, Nov. 15. The glittering event was staged at The Toronto Reference Library’s Bram & Bluma Appel Salon in downtown Toronto. The following photo essay captures some of the gala's memorable moments.

The honourees were: Kathleen Taylor (JD/MBA ’84), the president and CEO of the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts; John S. Hunkin (MBA ’69, LLD ’04), the former chairman, president and CEO of CIBC; Marc Wilchesky (PhD '80), who is the executive director of Counselling & Disability Services at York University; Nina Arsenault (BFA ’96, MFA ’00), a mulitdisciplinary artist, author and frequent speaker on gender, sexuality, the fine arts and the rights and dignity of transpeople; and Chris Penrose, (BA ’04), the executive director of Success Beyond Limits, who works with youth in the Jane and Finch community.
