York University recognized the achievements of five illustrious alumni at the 2012 Bryden Awards gala on Thursday, Nov. 15. The glittering event was staged at The Toronto Reference Library’s Bram & Bluma Appel Salon in downtown Toronto. The following photo essay captures some of the gala’s memorable moments.
The honourees were: Kathleen Taylor (JD/MBA ’84), the president and CEO of the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts; John S. Hunkin (MBA ’69, LLD ’04), the former chairman, president and CEO of CIBC; Marc Wilchesky (PhD ’80), who is the executive director of Counselling & Disability Services at York University; Nina Arsenault (BFA ’96, MFA ’00), a mulitdisciplinary artist, author and frequent speaker on gender, sexuality, the fine arts and the rights and dignity of transpeople; and Chris Penrose, (BA ’04), the executive director of Success Beyond Limits, who works with youth in the Jane and Finch community.
