Professor Kathryn McPherson is the new associate dean, students, for the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
The former chair of the School of Women’s Studies, McPherson has been a member of the executive committee for the graduate programs in history and gender, feminist & women’s studies. She is also a professor in the Department of History in the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies and a historian of women, health and work.

She has served on the Senate Committee for Tenure & Promotion and is currently chair of the Committee on Student Petitions for the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies. As well, McPherson has supervised and served as a committee member on numerous masters and doctoral theses.
McPherson is the author of Bedside Matters: The Transformation of Canadian Nursing (University of Toronto Press, 2nd edition 2003), has co-edited two volumes of essays and is co-director of the journal of Social History/ Histoire Sociale.
