Volunteers needed for third international graduate student research conference

The Centre for Research on Latin America & the Caribbean (CERLAC) is seeking volunteers to assist with the third international Graduate Student Research Conference on Latin America & the Caribbean, which will take place March 15 and 16 at York University.

Volunteers are needed to help with various aspects of the event through the two days, including registration, Spanish-English translation, logistical support etc. A minimum four-hour commitment is requested.

Volunteers who are willing to billet out-of-town conference participants are also needed – to welcome visiting students into their homes during the days of the conference and offer them a free and safe place to stay.

The registration fee to the conference will be waived for volunteers, so outside of your volunteer shift(s) you can enjoy the conference activities for free. All volunteers will enjoy the atmosphere of the event and the team spirit of the organizers and volunteer team.

If you would like to help, contact CERLAC at cerlac@yorku.ca with:

  • your name;
  • affiliation (if you are a student, your program/department);
  • e-mail and telephone contact information;
  • availability (which hours and which days of the conference you could help out).
  • For billeters: information about your home to help us make matches, such as proximity to the University/transit and whether or not you have pets, smokers, a private room for the guest, and an all-male, all-female or mixed household?

For more information, visit the CERLAC Graduate Student Research Conference on Latin America & the Caribbean web page.
