These professional development programs, which include courses, workshops, seminars and symposia, are designed to address the expressed needs of course directors and to systematically foster the scholarship of teaching and learning at York University. The Teaching Commons also offers a range of support for teaching assistants.

New eLearning @ York Course now available
This is an introductory course for faculty members who would like to explore and develop eLearning (web enhanced, blended and online learning) in their teaching. The course is undergoing external accreditation by Staff and Educational Developers Association (SEDA) Professional Development Framework (PDF) award. Based on the philosophy of experiential learning and SEDA-PDF values and outcomes, participants will combine learning about pedagogic theories with practical interventions and reflective practices regarding both eLearning and their individual professional development. New Experiential Education @ York Course now taking registrations
This is York University’s introductory course to support faculty who would like to explore and develop "In-Course" or "Within-Community" Experiential Education (EE) in their teaching. This is a blended learning course. Participants will engage in a range of learning activities, including reading articles, listening to presentations, engaging in group work and contributing to online and face-to-face discussions. Participants will also have the opportunity to meet and work with EE Coordinators who can provide logistical support and work with participants in terms of developing community contacts.
