Today marks the first day for York University’s new intranet YU Link.
YU Link (pronounced “You-Link”) offers quick and easy access to the tools and information you need as an employee of York University and connects you to others across the University’s campuses. Designed for faculty and staff, YU Link was developed by a pan-University project team with input from the Creating a Better Workplace group.
You will find YU Link at yulink.yorku.ca. Today, if you have a computer supported by University Information Technology, you should see a new icon (right) on your desktop; if you do not have the icon or it does not work go to the link that is now on the Faculty & Staff web page. It will take you to the YU Link landing page where you can log in and set up your access. Once in YU Link you will be able to view a series of helpful videos that have been created to help you make the most of YU Link. You can log in daily to learn about various York initiatives, what’s going on around campus, and you can add your voice to the campus conversation by contributing questions and answers, posting status updates and even sharing free classified ads.
YU Link centralizes your personal information, benefits, pension, training, YU-card and library information into one easy-to-navigate and convenient interface, eliminating the need to search in multiple locations. If you are a member of the University’s Faculty, you will be able to see details of the courses you teach as well as library research guides that are relevant to those course.

There’s an area where you can upload your photo and add personal information, similar to what you would do in LinkedIn or on other social media sites. Click My Profile to get started.
YFile news and information about the University is available on YU Link. You can also customize and consolidate news feeds from sources both inside and outside the University.
If you are interested in new career opportunities, there is a link to York job postings. And, if you want to develop your skills or learn something new, you can find out about training options through YU Link. Click My Career Development to see these features.
YU Link was designed with the idea that it would grow and evolve with the University. You can expect to see more content and new features added to YU Link over the coming months.
If you have feedback or suggestions, there is a feedback form on the top right-hand corner of every YU Link page that will send your comments directly to the YU Link team.
So welcome to YU Link!
Have a seat, look around and join the campus conversation.
