The Creative Writing Reading Series Faculty Event will feature nine York faculty members, authors and poets Friday.
The event will take place Oct. 4, from 11:30 to 2:30pm at 305 Founders College, Keele campus. Light refreshments will be served.

B.W. Powe is a poet, novelist, essayist and philosopher. His writing has been widely praised, as have his poetry and novels, including Outage and These Shadows Remain, listed for the ReLit Prize.
David B. Goldstein’s first book of poetry, Laws of Rest, came out this month. His poetry and translations regularly appear in chapbooks, journals and anthologies throughout North America.
Jennifer Duncan is the author of Sanctuary & OtherStories and Frontier Spirit: The Brave Women of the Klondike. Her poems, short stories and reviews have been published in literary journals and newspapers.
Rishma Dunlop is a poet, fiction writer and essayist. Her books include Lover Through Departure, White Album and The Body of My Garden. She is the recipient of the Emily Dickinson Prize for Poetry.
Patricia Keeney is the author of nine books of poetry, as well as a picaresque novel – The Incredible Shrinking Wife. Her poetry has been translated into French, Spanish, Bulgarian, Chinese and Hindi.
Margo Swiss has published poetry in magazines and anthologies. She is the author of Crossword: A Woman’s Narrative and is the editor of the award-winning Poetry as Liturgy: An Anthology by Canadian Poets (St. Thomas Poetry Series, 2007).
Priscila Uppal is a poet and fiction writer. Her memoir, Projection: Encounters with My Runaway Mother, has just been released and is shortlisted for the Hilary Weston Writers’ Trust Prize for Nonfiction.
David Layton is the author of Motion Sickness, a memoir shortlisted for the Trilium Award, and the novel, The Bird Factory, (McClelland & Stewart). His latest book, Kaufmann & Sons, is upcoming.
Concetta Principe’s poetry collection, walking, came out this spring. She has two previous books, Interference, a collection of prose poems, which won an award for best poetry in 2000, and Stained Glass.
The Creative Writing Program is part of the Department of English in the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies.
