Osgoode Hall Law School Juris Doctor student Jeffrey Mitchell, a Halifax native, has been selected from a pool of hundreds of nominations as one of 50 young leaders who will participate in the Emerging Leaders Summit in Digby, Nova Scotia from Oct. 20 to 23.

The summit is an intense three-day leadership experience that is held every two years for Atlantic Canada’s most promising young leaders aged 20 to 35 years old. The program is modeled in part after the successful Caldwell Partners Top 40 under 40 and will run in conjunction with the 21inc Ideas Festival.
Mitchell, who holds an honours bachelor of arts degree in criminology from St. Mary’s University, remains actively involved with his alma mater. At Osgoode, he is the chair of the Student Caucus, the law school’s student government advocacy branch.
Mitchell is involved with Pro Bono Students Canada, the Community and Legal Aid Services Program, the Intensive Program in Business Law and is active in the law school’s mooting program.
For the past two summers, he has been employed at McInnes Cooper in Halifax and will return to the firm this June as an articled clerk.
