Due to necessary repairs to York University’s utility infrastructure, excavation work will begin Friday, Dec. 6, on the south arm of York Boulevard just east of Ian Macdonald Boulevard, adjacent to the Schulich School of Business. This work will continue through the month of December, but because of the nature of these repairs, the exact duration is not known. Work is scheduled from 7am to 5pm daily. This work is not related to the closure of York Boulevard or the Toronto-York Spadina Subway Extension construction.
How will this impact the York community?
- At this point in time, there is no direct impact on vehicle or pedestrian traffic in the area; however, indirect activities related to staging and servicing of the site will lead to some delays.
- Some noise and vibration in the immediate area can be expected.
- The contractor performing the work will be available at all times to assist with vehicle and pedestrian movement around the site when necessary.
- Additional bulletins will be distributed as the impact on the campus or the status of the project changes.
When travelling throughout the construction zone, please watch for and obey all traffic signs and or traffic control personnel for your safety and convenience.
