Terry is the first filmmaker to document a crossing of the Northwest Passage through the seldom-navigated Prince of Wales Strait. In his presentation, he will tell how his two films – The Polar Explorer and The Antarctica Challenge: A Global Warning – became an integral part of the policy-making process at the United Nations climate summits in Copenhagen and Cancun.

For his work in polar exploration, Terry has received the Stefansson Medal (the Explorers Club’s highest honour), the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal and the Gemini Humanitarian Award from the Academy of Canadian Cinema, and been named to the College Of Fellows, Royal Canadian Geographical Society.
