To test recent programming changes, York's emergency messaging system will be temporarily disabled this evening, Tuesday, Feb. 4, between 5:30 and 8pm.
To avoid any potential confusion regarding messaging appearing on the liquid crystal display (LCD) screens, the screens will be turned off for the duration of the testing period and will appear black to the community during this time. In the event of an emergency, the screens will be immediately turned on and the appropriate emergency message will be displayed.
Questions or concerns can be directed to Kathy Branton, manager, Office of Emergency Preparedness, at 416-206-1010.
