The 12th annual All Nations Pow Wow and Gathering: Celebrating Indigeneity and Academia, a three day event with beat boxers, hip hop artists, throat singers and dancers, will start Thursday, Feb. 27 at 3pm in the York University Student Centre.
Following the opening prayer, there will be entertainment by beat boxers Wiidaaseh and Migize, as well as hip hop artist Jay Robi and graffiti artist Isaac Weber.

On Friday, Feb. 28, from 10am to 4pm, in the Moot Court of Osgoode Hall Law School, Ignat Kanef Building, Keele campus, three speakers will take to the stage: author Cherie Dimaline, community worker, storyteller and filmmaker Maria Campbell and poet Giles Benaway.
In Vari Hall on Saturday, March 1, the grand entry and traditional Pow Wow will begin at noon. There will be performances by the Smoke Trail Singers, Charging Horse, Old Mush Singers on the water drum, the women’s hand drum group Spirit Wind, female head dancer Jessica Cook and male head dancer John Hupfield.
The Education and Career Fair will take place the same day, from noon to 5pm, on the second floor of Vari Hall.
The gala evening and feast (pay what you can suggested $5 or bring a non-perishable food item) will follow the at the Underground Restaurant, from 6 to 8pm with performances by Métis fiddler Kim Anderson, Inuit throat singers Qatsuu Evic and Pam Sevigny and Spirit Wind.
The event is thanks to the combined efforts of the Aboriginal Students’ Association at York, the Centre for Aboriginal Student Services and the Osgoode Indigenous Students Association.
