The 16th Annual Osgoode Hall Law School Entertainment & Sports Law Conference, sponsored by Cassels Brock, took place on March 7 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
The full-day conference included six different panel discussions, with two sets of concurrent panel options. The event was the organization’s largest to date, attracting 150 guests and more than 20 conference panellists.
Representatives from Entertainment One, Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, the National Football League Canada, Rogers Communications, Universal Music Canada, the 2015 Pan Am Games and many more took part in the panel.
Chris Taylor, a Canadian entertainment lawyer; Don Meehan, a hockey player agent; Martin Katz, a three-time Academy Award and Golden Globe nominee and producer of Hotel Rwanda; and Susan Abramovitch, a respected Osgoode Hall alumnus and one of Toronto’s 50 most influential people took part in the conference.
Law students from across Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom attended the conference, which also included undergraduate students, and sports and entertainment professionals from the Greater Toronto Area.
