York University Lions field hockey player Anna Easty will suit up for the Canadian indoor national team at the Pan Am Cup in Montevideo, Uruguay.The tournament began Monday, April 7.
The week-long tournament will see Team Canada face Argentina, the United States and Uruguay with a berth into the 2015 Indoor World Cup on the line.
Easty, a fifth-year midfielder, is coming off a tremendous final season with the Lions. She scored a team-leading three goals in 12 games, accounting for a third of York’s offensive production in league play, and was named the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) and Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) player of the year, becoming just the second York field hockey player to receive the honour. She also earned first-team CIS all-Canadian and OUA all-star honours.
Prior to joining the Lions, Easty spent three seasons with the University of Connecticut Huskies, where she earned numerous academic awards in her time there.
She is currently enrolled in Osgoode Hall Law School at York University.
