More about the Three-Minute Thesis competition
Three Minute Thesis (3MT) is a research communication competition developed by The University of Queensland (Australia). Research higher degree (PhD and MPhil) students have three minutes to present a compelling oration on their thesis topic and its significance. 3MT is not an exercise in trivializing or "dumbing-down" research, but challenges students to consolidate their ideas and research discoveries so they can be presented concisely to a non-specialist audience. 3MT is a competition for graduate students to present their research topic to an intelligent, non-specialist audience in an engaging way. They will have just three minutes to present a compelling presentation on their thesis/dissertation topic and its significance.
