Innovation and imagination filled the air May 1 as fourth-year Lassonde School of Engineering students revealed their Eng4000 capstone design projects. The students, who were participating in a competition marking their final year of study, were challenged to develop solutions using engineering technology to real world problems. Grouped into ten teams, the 36 students took up the challenge this year in an intensive day of presentations, questions and judging. The event was led by Eng4000 course director Professor Ghafar-Zadeh.
The team of Will Lau and Marcin Matynia – both fourth year computer engineering students – took first place in the competition with their project "Operational Transformation". The duo won the first place project prize and the best live demonstration certificate. To learn more, view the team's project video.
Taking second place and winning the best video prize were Lassonde students Jatin Behl, Milandeep Shergill, Khady Lo Seck and Manjeet Kaur for their project "SafetyFirst". View the group's project video.
