Running group summer training starts this week

Join the York University Running Group and set your personal goals. Group runs will start this week.

 Two options:

  1. Formal Training group
  2. Run with us

Formal Training group

  • Weekly organized group runs (instructor-led)
  • Information sessions on various related topics (e.g. Nutrition, muscle/tissue health and maintenance, cross-training, lifestyle habits)
  • Info sessions to be scheduled on day/time that is most convenient for majority of registered participants
  • Training programs (specific to distance, current fitness, availability to train)
  • Run group shirt
  • Discounted race entry rate for Scotiabank races on Oct. 19
  • Cost: $40 (register at Client Services desk in Tait McKenzie or online)
  • Completion of Par-Q medical screening form

Run with Us

  • Your name can be added to distribution list to participate in informal smaller group run sessions
  • Participate in weekly organized group runs
  • No cost but should provide name and contact info
  • Completion of Par-Q medical screening form

Race information:

  • Scotiabank Waterfront Marathon
  • Date: Sunday, Oct. 19
  • Distances: full marathon (42.2 km/26.2 miles), half-marathon (21.1 km, 13.1 miles), 5 km (3 miles)

Pre-race possibility:

  • If sufficient interest, can look at entering a late summer/early fall race as practice run
