First major York University Station site concrete pour July 9

The first major concrete pour at the York University Station site has been rescheduled to Wednesday, July 9, due to Monday night’s weather. Construction will begin at 2:30am and continue until 3pm. Permitted overnight work includes concrete pours. During the work, there will be construction-related noise from trucks and equipment. Work will take place in the Contractor Work Zone as indicated on the map below.

Concrete trucks will be staged in the right lane of southbound York Boulevard from 2:30 to 7:30am. The left lane of southbound York Boulevard will remain open.

The City of Toronto’s normal working hours are 7am to 7pm. However, the city has approved a noise bylaw amendment for major transit projects, allowing contractors to perform overnight and weekend work for the duration of the project when required. Extended work hours are expected to occur within the hoarded construction site at York University until September.

As construction proceeds at the York University Station site, construction-related notices will continue to be issued.
