A celebration of the life of David Morley, York University professor emeritus who died June 13 after a long battle with cancer, will be held on Sunday.

The celebration of Prof. Morley’s life will be on July 13, from 2 to 4:30pm, at Koerner Hall – Leslie and Anna Dan Upper Gallery in the Royal Conservatory at the Telus Centre for Performance and Learning, 273 Bloor St. W., Toronto.

Prof. Morley joined the Faculty of Environmental Studies in 1969, shortly after its founding. He retired in 1996, but returned as acting dean from 2001 to 2004, leading FES successfully through a challenging time. He is fondly remembered by family, friends and colleagues as an individual with an indomitable spirit and a delightfully dry sense of humour.

The flags on the main Keele and Glendon flagpoles and those at Passey residences will fly at half-mast from 9am on July 11 until 1pm on July 12 to commemorate Prof. Morley.
