Overnight construction work that began last week at the future York University Station will continue from Sept. 15 to 20. Overnight and early morning activity will include: removal of a portion of the shoring system between the station box and the entrance structure, construction vehicles mobilizing on site, waterproofing, formwork, reinforcing steel and concrete placement for the construction of the station box and entrance structure.
During this period, construction-related noise from equipment and vehicles should be expected, including a mini-excavator that will generate engine noise.
Work will take place in the contractor work zone as indicated on the map below.
The City of Toronto’s normal working hours are 7am to 7pm; however, the city has approved a noise bylaw amendment for major transit projects, allowing contractors to perform overnight and weekend work for the duration of the project, when required. Construction activities at the York University Station site will continue to run 24 hours a day until Saturday, Sept. 20.
As this project progresses, construction-related notices will continue to be issued.
