Little Black Afro Theatre Company is looking for another new piece of work by a young Canadian artist to be staged in April 2015 at The Storefront Theatre.
The company, founded and run by York students, is a community of young, emerging artists providing opportunities to present original Canadian work.
They are taking the experience they have gained in their first two seasons and using it to mentor and develop the selected artists.
The theatre company members understand the struggles of staging work as emerging artists and want to help make the transition into the professional world of theatre easier.
They're resourceful, committed and ready to bring young artists to that next step.
Little Black Afro Theatre Complany will provide the following:
- stage management
- technicians
- actors
- designers
- a venue
- marketing/promotions
- a director (unless you choose to direct)
- a set, costumes and props
All costs will be covered by Little Black Afro Theatre. The piece will be selected by the second week of January and rehearsals will begin in February.
To be considered, fill out the Application Form in full. The submission deadline is Monday, Dec. 15, at 12pm.
Submissions and questions should be emailed to info@littleblackafro.com.
