Get inspired. Inspire 2015 is designed to engage Canadian youth and empower them to pursue their dreams.
Three speakers will share their experiences and advice at York on Wednesday, March 25, from 5:30 to 7:30pm, in the Harry Crowe Room, 109 Atkinson Building, Keele campus. Dinner and refreshments will be served. Admission is free. Seats are limited.
Melissa Grelo, co-host of CTV’s “The Social”; Adrian Capobianco, president of digital services agency Proximity Canada; and Mary Garofalo, anchor and investigative reporter on "16x9," a national investigative news magazine show, are this year’s speakers.
Grelo is the former longtime co-host of the popular morning news program "CP24 Breakfast." She has anchored and reported on some of Canada’s largest stories and was co-host of CTV’s "Olympic Morning" program, reporting live from Vancouver in 2010. She has also worked with charities, such as Artbound and Free the Children.
Prior to joining Proximity Canada, Capobianco was the managing director, digital, for digital marketing agency Cundari. He is also vice-chair of the board of HSF Canadian Partnership for Stroke Recovery, which is dedicated to stroke recovery research. He helped create and teaches the CMA’s Digital Marketing Certificate course and speaks at many universities.
Garofalo returned to Toronto to create and launch "16x9 – The Bigger Picture" on Global TV. Previously, she was the nightly news anchor for WPIX television, she headed up the investigative unit for Fox News and was an on-air reporter for City TV. She has won seven Emmy Awards, two Associated Press awards and an Award for Excellence in Communication from the State University of New York. The Police Society of New Jersey named her Woman of the Year.
This event will provide youth with exposure to live case studies from Canadians who have achieved success in their chosen professions.
The event is sponsored by New, Winters, Vanier and Founders colleges, among others.
