“Soccer, Jews and the Making of Argentina” is the title of an upcoming talk by Raanan Rein, the Elias Sourasky Professor of Latin American and Spanish History at Tel Aviv University.
The author and editor of more than 30 books, including Fútbol, Jews, and the Making of Argentina, Rein will deliver his talk Wednesday, April 22, at 12:30pm at 764 Kaneff Tower, Keele campus. RSVP at cjs@yorku.ca.
Also the vice-president of Tel Aviv University, Rein has published hundreds of articles in academic journals and book chapters, in several languages. He is a member of Argentina’s National Academy of History and former president of the Latin American Jewish Studies Association.
He was awarded the Commander in the Order of the Liberator San Martin for his contribution to Argentine culture by the Argentine government.
