The Faculty of Environmental Studies (FES) will host “An Interactive Food Justice Workshop with Spoke N’ Heard” presented by the Toronto Youth Food Policy Council (TYFPC) on Dec. 7, from 6 to 9pm in the HNES Building, room 109.
The event will feature special guest Jordon Veira, a spoken word artist, entrepreneur and co-founder of Spoke N’ Heard, who will facilitate an evening of creation to explore the topic of food justice.
Food justice is a process, movement and the revolutionary act of communities exercising their right to grow, sell and eat healthy food. Healthy food is fresh, nutritious, affordable, culturally appropriate and grown locally with care for the well-being of the land, workers and animals.
TYFPC will explore what this theme means to Toronto youth at this event, and will encourage participants to engage in collaborative conversation and creation.
Spoke N’ Heard is a social enterprise situated at the intersection of arts, entrepreneurship and personal development that aims to inspire individuals and communities through events, workshops and arts-based advocacy.
