York’s annual winter Career Fair will give students and new graduates a chance to connect with a variety of employers and learn about opportunities including full-time, part-time and summer jobs.
More than 55 employers will be at the fair this year including Canada Border Services Agency, Halton District School Board, Labatt Brewing Company, Ontario Provincial Police, Sun Life Financial and York University. The full list of participating employers can be found on the Career Fair website.
The event is one of two Career Fairs organized each year by the Career Centre (one in fall and one in winter) and typically draws over 4,500 students and new grads from a variety of programs and faculties.
Employers who’ve attended previous fairs have commented that they like recruiting at York because of the quality and diversity of student talent and are always impressed by how well prepared, professional and enthusiastic York students and new grads are.
This year’s winter Career Fair will be held on Thursday, Jan. 21 at the TEL (Technology Enhanced Learning) building. Students are invited to drop by any time between 10am and 3pm.
To prepare, students can read tips and view profiles of each organization to learn about the variety of opportunities being hired for. Some employers will be accepting resumes at the fair so students are also encouraged to bring along copies of their resume and business cards, if available.
Can’t make it to the Career Fair? The Career Centre offers a year-round schedule of events and workshops on job searching and career planning. York students and new grads (up to two years after graduation) can register for events on the Career Centre website.
