The Graduate Research Association of Students in Public Health (GRASP) is currently accepting abstracts for its second annual research symposium, Innovations in Public Health, taking place on Wednesday, May 18, at York University. The association is inviting undergraduate and graduate students from universities across Ontario to submit an abstract for for a presentation at the symposium, which could include participating in the poster session or symposium. Both undergraduate and graduate papers will be considered. Limited funding opportunities available for undergraduate poster presentations.
Topics can include, but are not limited to, the following:
- natural sciences,
- nursing,
- psychology,
- neuroscience,
- kinesiology,
- computer science,
- biostatistics,
- engineering,
- health policy,
- law,
- education, and
- biology.
Abstracts should be sent to graspyu@gmail.com by Feb. 29 (submission deadline). Include the following:
- your name and area of study;
- email address and phone number (mobile);
- title and abstract, not exceeding 250 words; and
- reason why you deserve funding (for undergraduates who are preparing a poster).
Attendance is open to all students, faculty and staff from different universities at no charge. The symposium schedule and location will be promoted and posted on the GRASP website.
Acceptance letters will be sent via email approximately three weeks after the deadline for submission.
Audio and video equipment will be provided at the symposium for the presenters using PowerPoint presentations.
If you are a candidate for the GRASP Certificate of Interest in Public Health (awarded to students who have attended four GRASP events throughout the year), you have the option to be presented the certificate at the symposium.
Awards will be presented at the end of the conference.
