AGYU presents Reciprocal Dialogue with Greg Staats

Toronto artist Greg Staats will deliver a talk at the Art Gallery of York University (AGYU) on Feb. 24 on his work to examine transformation among memorial behaviours without systemic barriers on intuition.

Staats, a Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) artist, has been working in the gallery with his personal archive and aerial photographs of Six Nations of the Grand River Territory gleaned from the Ontario Archives in order to move his installation practice forward.

The talk, entitled “Reciprocal Diaglogue with Greg Staats,” will take place from 6:30 to 8pm.

Staats creates works in photography, sculpture, installation and performance, and has exhibited his works across North America. His exploration of art is known to intersect with culture and cultural traditions. He is the recipient of the Duke & Duchess of York Prize in Photography.
