Schulich ranked among top schools worldwide for investment banking

A global survey by eFinancialCareers.com ranked the MBA program at York University’s Schulich School of Business among the top 35 in the world for landing a career in investment banking. Schulich was the only Canadian business school to make this year’s ranking and the only Canadian school to make the previous year’s ranking.

Schulich School of BusinessIn the ranking of the world’s best business schools for “breaking into investment banking”, Schulich placed 23rd overall, up from its spot at 30 the previous year. New York-based Columbia Business School ranked first overall, with Wharton placing second and London Business School third.

In ranking 23rd, Schulich placed just behind Oxford and Cambridge, and ranked slightly ahead of Kellogg – Schulich’s Executive MBA partner school – as well as IMD and UCLA.

According to this year’s ranking results, more than 50 per cent of Schulich MBA graduates within the eFinancialCareers database are employed at “Tier One” investment banks, a select group that includes Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Citi, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan and Morgan Stanley.

In conducting the ranking, eFinancialCareers.com analyzed data contained within more than 1 million professional resumes in its global database. The ranking looked at the number of MBA graduates around the world who have gone on to work in a front office investment banking role following graduation, as well as the percentage of graduates working in Tier One, Tier Two and Tier Three banks globally.
