The 2015 Employment Equity Statistical Report for York University is now available for review. The report can be found at http://hr.info.yorku.ca/.
The report highlights a statistical summary of the representation of the four designated groups: Women, Visible Minorities (Racialized), Aboriginal (Indigenous) Peoples, and Persons with Disabilities; and also speaks to anticipated diversity and inclusion-related initiatives for 2016 and beyond.
Some examples of diversity related initiatives include:
- the introduction of an incentive program for the recruitment of aboriginal (indigenous) candidates for full-time faculty tenure stream positions;
- an introduction of a new threshold for visible minority (racialized) recruitment for academic employees;
- the formation of the Race, Inclusion and Supportive Environments (RISE) Committee;
- ongoing work with designated groups to determine factors that may be a barrier to hiring or advancement at York University;
- the planned implementation of an applicant tracking system to allow for a more robust method of tracking diverse applications from point of attraction to hire.
