Ian Macdonald Blvd. reopens one way southbound, James Gilles St. to close

As progress continues on the new subway and the startup of the construction of the Schulich School of Business expansion starts early in the New Year, please note the following changes:

1) Southbound Ian Macdonald Blvd. will re-open shortly, but only east of the new Subway Station. Ian Macdonald Blvd. east of the Kaneff Tower/Archives of Ontario remains closed for infrastructure improvements.

2) James Gillies Street will close early in January in both directions between York Blvd and Fine Arts Road. James Gillies St. will remain open in both directions in the area of the Student Services Parking Garage.

How will this impact the community?

Community members will no longer be able to travel between on James Gillies St. between Fine Arts Road and York Blvd.

To access the north campus, use Ian Macdonald Blvd. to York Blvd. (right turn only – eastbound); turn left at diversion road through York Blvd. Parking Lot to reconnect to Ian Macdonald Blvd./ Vanier Lane.

To access the south campus, from Ian Macdonald Blvd./Vanier Lane, follow the road through York Blvd. Parking Lot back to York Blvd., turn right to reconnect to Ian Macdonald Blvd., continue along one way to left turn (southbound).

When travelling through the area, watch and adhere to all traffic and pedestrian signage, as well as traffic control personnel on site.

Take note that personal vehicles are not permitted in the Harry W. Arthurs Common or on the York University/TTC Busway.
