Lydia Stewart Ferreira joins Osgoode as visiting scholar

Lydia Stewart Ferreira ’14 (PhD) has joined York University’s Osgoode Hall Law School as a visiting scholar from April 17 to Dec. 15, 2017.

Stewart Ferreira is currently a deputy judge with Ontario’s Superior Court of Justice and a member of the Board of Directors of the Ontario Deputy Judges Association.

She received her PhD in Law from Osgoode in 2014 and an LLM from Osgoode Professional Development, and has been a visiting scholar at Harvard Law School and the University of Toronto Faculty of Law.

She has taught health law at four law faculties: the University of Toronto, Osgoode Hall Law School, Queen’s University and the University of Windsor.

Stewart Ferreira also has a MPH from Boston University, a BSc from Waterloo University and more than 10 years of professional health policy experience prior to undertaking a JD as a mature student and clerking for the Ontario Superior Court of Justice for Justice Hill and Justice Bruce Durno.

Her interests include empirical legal research, access to justice, administrative law, health law, criminal law and private law.
