Pay-and-display parking machines will be replaced starting July 4

From July 4 to 7, York University’s Parking Services will be upgrading the pay-and-display machines in all surface parking lots and on-street parking areas on the Keele and Glendon campuses.

The new machines will enable more modern and flexible service for the community and will enable Parking Services to implement new features in the months ahead. In addition to accepting Visa, MasterCard and American Express as well as coin payment, the new machines will also accept YU-card Flex funds.

When installed, the new machines will require clients to enter the vehicle license plate when purchasing a ticket.  In a future phase of the roll-out this will enable new functionality such as the ability to purchase and/or extend a paid parking session via smartphone, and eventually eliminate the need to display the ticket on the vehicle’s dash.

While the new machines are being installed, access to the daily parking lots and on-street parking areas will not be disrupted. Clients can purchase a ticket from any of the active machines (existing or new) in that parking lot.

Information about hourly/daily parking options can be found on the Parking Services web site at http://parking.info.yorku.ca/daily-rates/.
