Lisa Philipps, interim vice-president academic & provost, issues the following announcement to the York University community:
Collegial governance is a critical element in planning for the opening of York University’s Markham Centre campus (MCC), and I am pleased to share with you a document intended to serve as a reference point to inform consultations with the University community this academic year.
Over the next few months, we will be seeking input from the community on the discussion questions in the paper to determine how to best build governance at the unit, program and campus levels at MCC. Venues for consultations will include Faculty Council meetings, Senate, the Student Representative Roundtable, an open forum on the Keele Campus, and an opportunity for written feedback.
I would like to encourage all community members – faculty, staff, and students – to read the Options Paper and engage in the community consultations. For those that are unable to attend an in-person session, I invite you to provide your written feedback through our consultation form.
The Options Paper can be accessed on the Vice-President Academic & Provost website and further details with regard to the consultation opportunities will be provided in the near future.
