The Senate Committee on Awards has announced the creation of a new award. The President’s Research Impact Award recognizes all individuals and research teams headed by individuals with tenure-stream appointments at York University whose body of research or scholarship has translated into a notable impact on communities, individuals, public policies or practice, or translated successfully into impactful commercial or other applications.
Further, the President’s Emerging Research Leadership Award will now be presented to two early career researchers annually – one being awarded to a researcher in the disciplines or fields related to engineering, science, technology, health and biomedicine; the other awarded in the disciplines or fields related to social sciences, arts and design, humanities, business, law and education.
The President’s Research Excellence Award will continue to be presented to one senior full-time faculty member, but will be now awarded on an alternating basis annually between the two disciplinary clusters mentioned above.
The criteria can be found on the Senate Committee on Awards website. The call for nominations will be announced this fall.
