SEEC-ABMP wins gold at Canada China Business Excellence Awards

The gold award

The Schulich Executive Education Centre’s Asian Business Management Program (SEEC-ABMP) was awarded gold for Education Excellence at the 2018 Canada China Business Excellence Awards. The announcement was made at a luncheon in Toronto on Oct. 3.

The award is presented to a Canada China Business Council (CCBC) member organization in the education sector that demonstrates outstanding achievement in delivering China-related success, including research partnerships, recruitment, student/faculty exchanges, alumni relations, institution linkages, executive training and provision of Canadian curricula.

Bernard Frolic

“We are honoured to receive this special recognition and we thank everyone for the help they have given us over the past years to bridge political, economic and cultural gaps in the Canada-China relationship,” said Bernard Frolic, SEEC-ABMP executive director.

SEEC-ABMP is a Centre of Excellence at the Schulich Executive Education Centre at York University’s Schulich School of Business that provides professional development and management training to Chinese senior public officials, executives and educators, both in Canada and China. Since 2000, it has delivered more than 250 short- and long-term training programs to more than 5,000 officials at the national and provincial levels, and to many educators and executives in the private sector.

Indeed, SEEC-ABMP has been a leader for contributions made to Canada’s understanding of the critical importance of China in its institutional and international strategies; for contributions made to the advancement of Chinese studies at York University; and for sustainable international partnerships that have made both its Chinese and Canadian participants global leaders.
