Schulich celebrates first cohort of Sustainable Infrastructure Fellows

The first graduating class of the Sustainable Infrastructure Fellowship program at York University's Schulich School of Business was recognized on July 12 during a graduation ceremony.

Held at the Rob and Cheryl McEwen Graduate Study & Research Building, the first cohort of Fellows heard a keynote address from Canada's Ambassador to the UN, Marc-André Blanchard.

Joining the 13 Sustainable Infrastructure Fellowship program graduates are Marc-André Blanchard, Canada's ambassador to the UN; Ron Mock, president and CEO of the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan; Sherena Hussain, academic director of the program; and Boris Remes, program director

The Sustainable Infrastructure Fellowship program was created by the Investor Leadership Network to enhance the expertise of senior public sector infrastructure professionals from emerging markets in developing sustainable and investable infrastructure projects.

The first cohort ran from June 2 to July 12, with 13 Fellows participating in six weeks of classroom and experiential training conducted by eminent infrastructure experts from both academia and industry, as well as instruction on the Sustainable Infrastructure Foundation’s SOURCE platform and executive training from an infrastructure group of a participating global investor.

The program was designed to help Fellows to better understand the criteria used by investors to evaluate infrastructure projects, thus helping to close an existing gap in infrastructure investment.
