Reminder: Experiential Education Symposium highlights achievements of York students, faculty

A two-day event to highlight experiential education at York University will run Jan. 21 and 22, and celebrates the achievements of students and faculty who have participated in experiential education (EE).

The Experiential Education (EE) Symposium is a multi-disciplinary event for students, faculty, administrators, staff and community members. It features opening remarks from York staff, a student/faculty panel presentation, tables hosted by Learning Commons Partners and a marketplace-like environment where students present their projects in the form of poster sessions.

Experiential education is the application of theory to a hands-on experience within the classroom, within the community or in the work place, which advances what students learn in a course or program.

The Experiential Education Symposium is organized by the YU Experience Hub, the Teaching Commons and the Learning Commons. It runs Jan. 21 from 1 to 4 p.m. and Jan. 22 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Victor Philip Dahdaleh Building, Room 1014.
