York University’s Schulich School of Business is launching a new webinar series, “Shaping the Post-Pandemic World,” designed to draw lessons from the new realities engendered by the COVID-19 pandemic.
As we all try to make sense of this complex situation, thought leaders from various disciplines within Schulich’s faculty will offer reflections during the Zoom format webinars hosted by Preet Aulakh, associate dean, Research. Speakers will present their reflections and insights for the first 10 minutes, followed by a 50-minute free-flowing discussion with the participants.
“In this webinar series, thought leaders from Schulich will reflect on the pandemic and draw lessons for what it means for us as individuals, organizations and societies, going forward,” said Ashwin Joshi, director of Schulich’s MBA program. “The COVID-19 pandemic has made the idea of a balanced commitment to considerations about people, planet and profit especially salient.”
The first webinar, “COVID-19 – A New Test for Corporate Social Responsibility,” will feature Dirk Matten, Hewlett-Packard Chair in Social Responsibility. He will examine and draw insights from encouraging and less successful examples of companies’ policies and actions in recent weeks.
The second webinar features David Johnston, director of Schulich’s Master of Supply Chain Management program. He will present “Reflections on the Sustainability of Supply Chains” and will examine how the current global crisis has exposed the strengths and weaknesses of current supply chains and the implications of this going forward.
Each webinar can host up to 500 registrants and will be live every Tuesday and Thursday at 1 p.m. EST, starting Thursday, April 16. If you wish to register or learn more about the upcoming webinars, visit schulich.yorku.ca/covid-19-webinar.
